Daisy helped to massage my leg and bring down the swelling drastically, and all during the session she would make the effort to talk to the patient and help pass the time.

I was referred to Core Concept by my doctor about a month after knee surgery. It’s in Parkway Parade, the office building part and quite convenient to get to, especially for someone hobbling around on crutches. There are six lifts at the lift lobby that you can take from the first to third floor of the mall in order to reach Core Concept. Make sure you don’t go to the wrong lift lobby. For those driving there, you can take the office lifts on car park level 6. Note that even though it’s car park level 6, in the office building it’s actually floor 5. I got lost the first couple of times 😅It isn’t very big when you walk in but there is a very nice welcoming and friendly atmosphere throughout. It was my first time going for physiotherapy treatments after a surgery so I was a bit nervous, and the warm atmosphere really helped me to relax. There’s coffee and snacks for companions if they want to hang around.Basically, there are senior therapist will be in charge of your overall treatment and assign different therapists to you at different points of your treatment depending on your needs.I was first seen by Sylvia, their senior physiotherapist who assessed my condition and planned my treatment programme. She started my first session with a physio massage to clear some of the muscle knots and fascia which had built up in my leg due to my injury. For the next few sessions, the therapist working with me focused on physio massage, and 3 simple exercises to start rebuilding strength in the muscles around my knee. I must say that the physio massage was super painful but super effective. A lot of the aches that had built up during my injury slowly went away.Once I was ready, Sylvia moved me onto building and regaining functional strength with Carmelle. She would give me 3-4 exercises to do daily and she would always offer to help me video them so I could remember them easily. Working with Carmelle was always fun. She realised that I would sometimes be overentusiastic about doing the exercises and taught me a simple stretch that could target all the muscles that I needed to stretch out. She would also remind me about using a foam roller after the exercises. She would also check on me if I fell sick and remind me to get enough rest.Overall, I regained functionality in my knee and the exercises they taught me have even helped my balance to improve. Huge thanks and hugs to Sylvia and Carmelle!!!!!!
